Terms of use

Last updated: 2 November 2026

These terms apply to the Toilet Star Alexa skill and the website at toiletstar.app (together, the service), provided by [Company name]. By enabling the skill or signing in to the website you agree to them.

Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose progress you record. Children may speak to Alexa through the skill only with you present and supervising.

Not medical or professional advice

Toilet Star is an encouragement tool. It is not medical, health or parenting advice and is not a substitute for guidance from a health visitor, GP or other professional. Every child is different; if you are worried about your child's development, speak to a professional.

Your account

You sign in with your Amazon account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything recorded through your household's Alexa devices. Give Alexa only a nickname for your child; you do not need to use a real name.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any purpose other than encouraging toilet training in your own family;
  • record information about a child you are not responsible for;
  • attempt to access other people's data, disrupt the service or probe its security;
  • copy, resell or build a competing product from the service.

Your data

How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the dashboard.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you through the skill or by email before it takes effect.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time by disabling the skill and deleting your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, [liability limitation wording to be confirmed by legal review]. The service is provided free of charge and "as is".

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction [to be confirmed by legal review].
